In many indigenous cultures, the continuing role of women in the local markets at least gives them some early exposure and development of the characteristics that would allow them to effectively compete in the larger market, if they have the opportunity. In most Eurocentric cultures, and especially in the U.S. the early developmental relationship of the female to the marketplace is only as a consumer. So when U.S. women move into the business arena they are often unprepared for the challenges they will face.
The emergence of the Feminine Principle as a factor in the U.S. and global economy is essential. It must happen if we are to survive what lies in our future. There are Universal Principles of Balance and Rhythm that will continue to assert themselves, forcing a paradigm shift. And women must be prepared to assume the role and responsibility of making crucial decisions that will affect the lives of generations to come.
Capitalism and The Goddess, Pt II
Excerpt
The word gender is derived from the Latin root meaning to beget, to procreate, to generate, to create, and to produce. The ancient wisdom says that both the male and the female have masculine and feminine characteristics. This is true, even on the physical plane. It is noteworthy that all humans are conceived female, and if certain androgens are present during the early gestation process, that female embryo goes through a metamorphosis to become a male. But Hermes also taught on Mental Gender.
The Masculine Principle of Mind corresponds to the Objective, Conscious, Voluntary, and Active aspects of our mental processes. The Feminine Principle of Mind is the subjective, sub-conscious, involuntary, passive, intuitive aspect of our mental processes. Both males and females share the characteristics of the Masculine and Feminine Principles of Mind. Unfortunately, the present paradigm for the development of U.S. Corporations and the Global Economy is one based on the dualistic notion of mutual exclusion. Males are exclusively masculine and females are exclusively feminine, and never the twain shall meet.
